Rasulullah Ordered Tax Payment, Why Do You Refuse It?

Why Pay Motor Tax If Prabowo Doesn't Become President ?? Do I have to pay taxes to the Chinese regime?

The sentence was written by a young man who had led a large, faith-based youth organization in the country. But from the sentence it is rather difficult to understand why people who insyaallah understand religion actually against the orders of the Prophet Muhammad in managing the country.

If the young man with the initials watershed had read the story of the Messenger of Allah, surely he understood that one of the things that the Apostles fought was absent from taxes. Even asbabun nuzul Alquran letter Al-Hujarat verse 6 begins with the event of a friend named Walid bin Uqbah who was asked by the Apostle to take taxes from the Children of Musthaliq.

Hearing a visit from the Apostle's messenger, Bani Musthaliq welcomed with enthusiasm. They prepared a rousing welcome for Walid. But Walid saw it differently. Having experienced conflict before they converted to Islam, Bani Musthaliq's rousing remarks were seen as a threat to him. Not until Walid met with residents, he immediately turned around and returned to Medina.

Arriving in Medina, he told the Apostle about the reluctance of local residents to pay taxes and even make threats. To clarify it, the Apostle then sent his strongest commander, Khalid bin Walid, to investigate the Walid's confession. Did Bani Musthaliq really miss the tax payment? After being investigated, apparently there was a misunderstanding between Bani Musthaliq and Walid.

Taxes and the state support each other. Development in a country cannot be carried out if taxes are not paid by its citizens. The call to not pay taxes is a big mistake both in terms of law and religion.

Does the watershed never learn the principles of fiqh that say that if there are two confrontational (dangers) facing each other, then choose the one that has the least adverse effect on society?

I tried to use the logic of DAS which was very passionate in supporting certain presidential candidates.

Situation A:

If Prabowo does not become president is a disaster because 44% of the people want him to be president

Situation B:

If some people do not pay taxes, it will weaken the country that serves the Chinese regime

Now let us sort out one by one.

Is it true that Prabowo did not become president? In fact 55% more people want Prabowo's opponents as president. From the perspective of siyasah law or state administration, it is clear that forcing Prabowo as president is a fortune because it is against the agreed law.

Second, is it true that the current administration is the government of the Chinese regime? Prabowo's opponents are Indonesian citizens, Islam, and have Koran teachers. In fact, his representative was a cleric who had a lineage up to Shaykh Nawawi Al-Bantany, one of the leading scholars in the archipelago. The Islam of Prabowo's opponents and their Indonesianness are not in doubt. While the accusation that Prabowo's opponents were lackeys of China, asylum and so on were assumptions and propaganda that had never been proven to even constitute slander. Is the quality of a former youth organization leader who has an academic title so low that he uses hoax and slander as the basis for accusations?

The fasting month should make Muslims be more careful. It is unfortunate if Muslim leaders as young as those who should provide optimism for the future of the nation show a bad example for the wider community. The irony is only because of the five-year politics. Does the watershed guarantee that it supports more Islam than its opponents so that it accuses it? Wallahua'lam.

What is clear, I just want to share stories with the watershed and people who are like it. When the writer nyantri in a boarding school, one of the scholars said it was forbidden for people to buy black market goods. Why? Because BM goods avoid taxes. Then one of the students asked:

"If we pay taxes but what do we do about corruption?"

The elderly kiai explained using the perspective of two madharat as above.

Situation A:

If you pay taxes, the money will be corrupted later

Situation B:

If you don't pay taxes, the country will be destroyed.

Which is more dangerous, money is corrupted or the country is destroyed? Of course, we agreed that the destruction of the state was greater.

"I need to convey this so that you do not become citizens who destroy their own homeland."

That is the teaching that the writer always remembers from the kiai who has no interest in politics. The sanity of thinking is indeed a luxury when people no longer see the Prophet as an example in practicing Islam. People prefer to channel their worldly lust without seeing the goodness for everyone. Naudzubillahi min dzalik. May we avoid the haughty attitudes that keep us from true religious teachings.
